QUICK LOOK: New United Airlines Premium  Cabin Amenities Kits

United Airlines looks to be trying to up their game in the First/Business Class inflight experience game, with updates to their amenities kits.

Having collected dozens of the older kits, which the contents primarily get dumped out and the bag gets reused by myself and my fiancée for everything from holding cables and mobile office supplies to carrying her clip on boot crampons for walks to the office in the winter.  I have always thought it was a little bit of a waste, but loved the little bags.

I also loved when United did the limited edition tins with all the hub cities.  I remember a flight from Denver to Tokyo, where several of us in First Class were trading tins to try and finish our sets. Nerdy, but kinda cool.

The newest incarnation of the United amenities kit is look like a small upgrade with products by Cowshed, the spa at the members-only club Soho House. The case also looks like a nice leatherette or most likely faux leather.

Overall, nice upgrade, but compared to the real premium airlines, like Etihad and Singapore Air, it’s like chopped liver, but so is everything about United premium product. Alas, some of us are locked in…

Looking forward to seeing the new kit in person in a month and a half, when I fly to Asia.
